Achieve Your Goals

Empower Yourself

Welcome

Hello, I'm Joanne. Thank you for visiting my website. Making the decision to start therapy can be a difficult one and finding the right therapist for you is important for successful personal change and growth.

I am a qualified integrative therapeutic counsellor and CBT practitioner. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, as well as the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I am also a certified clinical trauma professional (CCTP).

I have experience of working with short and long-term counselling across a wide range of issues.  I worked for five years in an IAPT Centre providing NHS funded therapy to adults in West London, and I now run a successful private practice in Sheffield and Manchester. I have experience of working with people of various ages and backgrounds. However, more recently I have been working with a lot of students and academics, as my background is in higher education and my Sheffield practice is close to the University of Sheffield.

I offer integrative therapeutic counselling which draws on a range of therapeutic approaches to treat a variety of wellbeing issues. I am a qualified Person Centred Experiential Counselling for Depression (PCE-CfD) practitioner, which is the evidence based IAPT preferred approach for treating depression. I am also trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) which can help you to become your own therapist, by providing tools that help you to recognise and change your own automatic thoughts and behaviours.

I offer face-to-face sessions in Sheffield and Manchester, as well as sessions online via Zoom or by telephone.

I also offer clinical supervision to trainee and qualified counsellors and psychotherapists.
